Distanze Educanti is a project born from an encounter with distance and from what it makes you feel when you step into a shared space shaped by education, care, and everyday life. I don’t think of distance as something negative; for me, it becomes an active, generative condition. I felt it while observing gestures, games, moments of study and waiting—small fragments of a community in the making.
I am interested in building an emotional state through the use of simple, recurring images: hands, shadows, bodies in motion, objects touched and worn by daily life. Black and white allows the images to be reduced to their essence, letting light and darkness speak as signs of an education that happens quietly, outside formal structures. The installation, with photographs both displayed and projected in a continuous loop, creates a suspended, almost meditative space, inviting the viewer to slow down and enter the rhythm of these shared moments.
Developed in collaboration with MÖNINGA Onlus and Roots Modena, Distanze Educanti transforms geographical distance into a space of relation, where memory becomes collective experience and where separation opens up the possibility of encounter and community.
